About

Low Laithes is an eighteen hole, parkland course which was designed by the legendary Dr Alistair Mackenzie. Golf was first played on the course in 1925 and it has developed over the years into a challenging test for golfers of all abilities.

The course is undulating without being hilly and has a variety of outstanding features which make every hole different. The par 3 holes, though not excessively long, are demanding as is the final, par 5 hole, a test for the most accomplished golfer. Tight tree lined fairways, open ditches and well placed bunkers are designed to examine a player’s technique and club selection.

Renowned in the local area, our main feature is the speed and quality of our greens which is due to the hard work and ability of our Head Greenkeeper and his experienced staff.

In recent years, investment in state of the art machinery, improvements to the drainage and upgrades to the irrigation system has meant playing golf is possible throughout the year.

Ideally situated within the M1/M62 corridor in West Yorkshire and just off the M1 at Junction 40, Wakefield/Dewsbury exit, making us easily accessible from all areas.

You can be assured of a warm welcome at Low Laithes where you can relax in the comfortable clubhouse and enjoy excellent catering facilities. The Pro-shop is well equipped and a PGA Golf Professional is always on hand for tuition or advice.
