Discover a whole new world of reading at Sandal Library. Be inspired by the nearby Sandal Castle and read of knights and kings and discover your own tales of old in the dedicated local and family history section.


Sandal Castle is the Wakefield district’s first fully dementia friendly library with a layout including subtle design features which are specifically incorporated to make it easier for people living with dementia to use.


There is also a reminiscence lounge with a local history slideshow for all to enjoy. Don’t forget to get involved in the programme of weekly events taking place for all ages.
